Certificates for Statewide candidates must be filed with the State
Election Commissioner and for all other candidates with the Departments of Elections
for their respective County.
DEADLINE for Unaffiliated Candidates to file and submit Petitions. Petitions must be circulated and
executed between January 1 and July 15, 2008. For statewide offices the petition is filed with the
Commissioner of Elections
For non-statewide offices, the petition is filed with the applicable Department of Elections for

NOTICE: All political committees and candidate committees for those offices that earn over $1,000 per year or exceed $2,000 in campaign expenditures and/or contributions must file campaign finance reports with the State Election Commissioner UNDER PENALTY OF LAW. NOTICE: A person with a physical disability who is assigned to a Polling Place that is not accessible may request an alternate voting site. The person may be assigned to another polling place with the same ballot or be provided with an alternative means for casting a ballot on the day of the election. The request must be made in advance at least 20 days prior to the date of an election. The request must be addressed to the Department of Elections in the county in which the person resides.
